England's Jeep Beat Collective will make their US debut with the double CD,
triple vinyl anthology "Technics Chainsaw Massacre". Featuring 19 tracks
with over 82 minutes of music this album chronicles the groups four year
history, containing tracks from their first UK album "Attack of the
Wildstyle Beatfreaks", the remix LP "Repossessed Wildstyles" and their new
Nov. 98 UK album release "For Jimi Hendrix" (Ruf Beats). Technics Chainsaw
Massacre is sure to appeal to an eclectic audience and will expose
turntablism/electronica lovers to Jeep Beat's funky deck wrecking history of
beats and intricate scratching. With influences ranging from Grandmaster
Flash to the Sex Pistols, this album will definitely take listeners for a

HISTORY
Jeep Beat Collective's creator & leader The Ruf came up with the concept of
Jeep Beat Collective in early 94, with the aim to bring scratching and
speaker busting beats & basslines back to the forefront of music. Through
94/95 The Ruf perfected his technique's and brought in the cream of local
DJ's to execute the scratch ideas and patterns in his head. Jeep Beat
recorded the anthem "The Bomb Drops" for the Bomb's 1995 pioneering dj
scratching album "Return of the DJ". Tracks by the group have also appeared
on albums by; Andy Smith's (Portishead) The Document mix album, DJ Food's
(Ninja Tune) Refried Food PT5&6, Justin Robertson's Journeys By DJ's mix CD
as well as tracks featured in various skate & snowboard videos as well as a
track in the French film "Le grand Chlem".
